World’s first-ever sperm race set to occur in Los Angeles with a live audience

For the first-time ever, Los Angeles is hosting a sperm race. A start-up called ‘Sperm Racing’, is launching this wild, history-making event as a way to “make reproductive health engaging and measurable while addressing declining fertility rates.”

Startup Sperm Racing's one-of-a-kind event is scheduled to occur at the Hollywood Palladium on April 25, 2025.

Sperm Racing is expected to make history as the world’s first competitive sperm motility showdown.

Over 1,000 spectators are anticipated to attend the event, where, despite the racers being invisible to the naked eye, the excitement promises to be tangible.

The Sperm Racing's manifesto revealed that the event would include the use of high-resolution cameras and a carefully designed microscopic racetrack that mimics the human reproductive system.

Instead of athletes on a track, their sperm cells will race under a microscope, competing in a lab-engineered racecourse where their speed and motility will be measured in real-time.

High-solution cameras will track every microscopic move and the high-energy event will feature a head-to-head “race” between two of California’s collegiate giants: UCLA vs. USC.

There will be press conferences, live commentary, and even betting and the sperm racing event is covered like a full-fledged, proper sporting showdown. The startup has already raised $1 million to get the concept off the ground with support from venture firms like Karatage and Figment Capital.

The sperm race is the brainchild of a group of young startup founders: Eric Zhu (CEO of Aviato), Nick Small (Stealth Consulting), Shane Fan (Waterfall NFT pricing), and Garret Niconienko (former content strategist for YouTuber MrBeast).
