Greg Abbott Mic Drops Media by Sharing Red State vs. Blue State Wuhan Virus Response Comparison Graphic

That the mainstream media has given overwhelmingly favorable and positive coverage to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) over his Wuhan coronavirus response in comparison to Republican governors like Ron DeSantis (FL), Greg Abbott (TX), and Brian Kemp (GA) is not exactly shocking news, but it’s worth pointing out and analyzing all the same.

All three Republican governors have made it a point in media interviews to push back on the false narratives promoted by cable news networks like CNN and print/online outlets like the Washington Post that they somehow failed in their handling of the outbreak in their states simply because they chose not to follow New York’s lead in how they approached managing the crisis and combating the virus.

In fact, neither New York City nor New York state have been shining leadership examples of how to effectively manage a health crisis, as we have long known but which has slowly but surely come into sharper focus thanks in part to in-depth investigations done by Pro Publica and – surprisingly enough – even the New York Times.

But even with more information coming to light about how Cuomo and NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio completely and utterly botched the handling of the virus in their city and state, the media still persists in treating Cuomo like a rock star, which has to be infuriating to the hard-working red state Republican governors who they still bash with regularity.

Over the weekend, Gov. Abbott took to the Twitter machine and shared a comparison graphic that showed his state and Florida compared to California and New York on the issue of how each were doing since the outbreaks started in their respective states. The differences were noteworthy:
