Firefighter saves American flag during California fires

The lack of preparedness amid the California wildfires is alarming, as water hydrants have run out of water and thousands were forced to evacuate their homes.

Apocalyptic footage circulated social media all throughout Wednesday—from windows busting open in Los Angeles residents' homes to people being trapped inside with their pets.

One on-the-street news interview stood out.

Eaton fire victims were reportedly never given any alert before the fire arrived. Nick Sortor wrote in a post on X, "This comes amid reports that cellular service and internet was cut off soon after the fire began."

A reporter for NBC interviewed Eaton resident James Day: "We've been out here since 5 o'clock, and all you see is raining hellfire."

The reporter asked: "When did you get the notification for the evacuation?"

Day: "We never did. Over here, we never got the evacuation notice."

The reporter continues, "Have you seen any fire crews? I see an energy company down there."

"We see them going up and down the street but not helping us," Day replied.

Stunned, the reporter states, "Well, there simply aren't enough around."

"So there you have it, this is uh, hand-to-hand combat, quite frankly."

"This isn't to put any blame anywhere because there are so many fires and intersections like this. And there's another explosion; goodness knows what that was."

In a post to his platform, Truth Social, President Trump wrote: "The fires in Los Angeles may go down, in dollar amount, as the worst in the History of our Country."

Trump continued, "In many circles, they’re doubting whether insurance companies will even have enough money to pay for this catastrophe. Let this serve, and be emblematic, of the gross incompetence and mismanagement of the Biden/Newscum Duo. January 20th cannot come fast enough!"

The incoming President also slammed California Governor Newsom, crowing him, "Newscum"

Trump wrote: "Governor Gavin Newscum refused to sign the water restoration declaration put before him that would have allowed millions of gallons of water, from excess rain and snow melt from the North, to flow daily into many parts of California, including the areas that are currently burning in a virtually apocalyptic way."

"He wanted to protect an essentially worthless fish called a smelt, by giving it less water (it didn’t work!), but didn’t care about the people of California. Now the ultimate price is being paid. I will demand that this incompetent governor allow beautiful, clean, fresh water to FLOW INTO CALIFORNIA! He is the blame for this. On top of it all, no water for fire hydrants, not firefighting planes. A true disaster!"

In the ashes of it all, one firefighter saved the American flag.

Grant Godwin, known online as "The Typical Liberal", shared a post on Instagram: "Through the literal hell that California is going through right now, it’s nice to see a firefighter save the Stars and Stripes! God bless America! I feel so bad for everyone who is affected by this fire, and I hope that in the future, Cali’s leadership will act in the interests of its people and stop being so incompetent.
